Across the country, more theme parks are adopting Sesame Street Place's plan.
Legoland, near Orlando, Florida has trained their staff and has partnered with the local chapters of Autism Speaks to address the needs of those with autism.
Disney parks in both California and Florida have quiet rooms as well as extensive planning guides.
Morgan's Inspiration Island Water Park in San Antonio is fully acceptable for any ability. They also provide free admission to special needs visitors.
Beaches Resorts also partners with Sesame Street Workshop to offer shows and activities and has been credentialed to provide specialized dietary services, one-on-one aides, "quiet check-in" and other services.
Sheraton Park in Anaheim near Disneyland has also been credentialed. The Georgia Aquarium and the Space Center in Houston are designated as Autism Centers.
If you're traveling internationally, consider the Palladium Bavaro Suites Resorts & Spa in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic has been credentialed to serve those with disabilities.
As time goes on, there will be many more options for families whose members may have conditions that keep them from enjoying life.
