Found your purpose in life? Notice that you sleep better and wake up feeling motivated? The two go together.
Researchers evaluated a group of older Americans ranging in age from 60 to 100 and found some interesting results. This age group was chosen because they have higher rates of insomnia and other sleep disorders.
The results concluded that when people felt their lives held significant meaning, they were 63% less likely to have sleep apnea, a potentially fatal condition, and 53% were less likely to have restless leg syndrome which interferes with sleep quality.
Exploring activities that bring pleasure and causes that support your beliefs are critical to staying motivated by and engaged in life.
Participating in this way reduces isolation and loneliness and provides a support group in times of challenge. Go ahead, get out there!
