They’re wildly popular. But drinking just one energy drink leads to significantly worse circulation.
The ingredients constrict the lining of the 100,000 miles of veins, arteries and capillaries in an adult due to the caffeine, taurine, and the high level of sugar.
Energy drinks are used to boost powerful, prescribed stimulant medications. Even moderate intake of these drinks can lead to heart, nerve and stomach problems.
In excess, they cause palpitations, vomiting, nausea, convulsions, high blood pressure and are linked to Type 2 diabetes. The drink prompts the release of stress hormones, which could interfere with emotional functioning.
The higher the level of caffeine, the more health risks.
It’s a $50 billion industry that is expected to more than double over the next 10 years. This stuff isn’t going away anytime soon.
