As a parent, you can appreciate the need for some of these services in case of emergencies and to make certain that your teen is abiding by their driving privileges and their driving contract.
The website also indicates that the system allows you to get speed alerts, low battery alerts, curfew notifications and features to allow you to find your car.
But, as you've learned about me as we've moved along through this whole parenting thing, one of my goals is to control the controllable. If you have proof that your teen has allowed distractions to impact their driving, has gone beyond the agreed-upon boundaries and curfew or violated the posted speed limit, this information can prompt a helpful conversation and "corrective" action.
If you can't locate your teen, suspect that they're in trouble, have broken down, run off the road or need assistance of any kind, time is critical and having information on their whereabouts or needs will help emergency personnel to give them the right assistance right away.
Good luck out there! TTFN, Claudia
