This is a Smartphone interface that gives you the power to track a vehicle on a map. It also allows you to "set up to three Geo-Fence locations and a Security Fence feature". The "app is easily downloadable on any iPhone, Android or Blackberry device and has virtually unlimited operating range". You can add as many vehicles as you'd like and adjust preference settings for each one.

On newer cars, these features might be optional. Ask your sales representative. As for these after-market products, I have no information about the true nature of their functioning. I presented these products as a prompt for you to consider your needs and the systems that meet them. Obviously, doing your own research is critical.

If you have proof that your teen has allowed distractions to impact their driving, has gone beyond the agreed-upon boundaries and curfew or violated the posted speed limit, this information can prompt a helpful conversation and "corrective" action.
If you can't locate your teen, suspect that they're in trouble, have broken down, run off the road or need assistance of any kind, time is critical and having information on their whereabouts or needs will help emergency personnel to give them the right assistance right away.
