My Dad (capitalization intended) was hilarious. He was so droll. His dry sense of humor, keen observational skills and timing were legendary in my family. Our son has his grandfather's wit. Dad reminded me of Johnny Carson, pictured here. They were both of slight, but strong, build and they had the same hairline. Adorable.
If one of us kids was looking for, say, a hammer, Dad would quickly respond, "I don't know where it is. It's not my day to watch it". Oh, the rolling of the eyes would ensue.
When we were bored and complaining of nothing to do, he'd say, "Stand still. Let me get a 3-piece orchestra to entertain you" and then, promptly hand you a rake.
Dad could really, really make Mom laugh. At times, she laughed so hard, we thought she needed to go to the emergency room. He did the most hilarious impressions of Inspector Clouseau of the Pink Panther.
