Cannabis sativa has been used for thousands of years for religious and medicinal purposes.
The two chemical compounds in this strain are helpful in reducing the symptoms of a number of disorders including anxiety and panic, schizophrenia and Parkinson’s where the chemicals reduce psychotic symptoms and some motor control issues. These chemicals also relax arteries and enhance heart function.
People with irritable bowel syndrome and those undergoing chemotherapy find that cannabis sativa eases nausea and vomiting. For some people, the chemicals improve both the quality and quantity of sleep.
Cannabinoids are anti-inflammants and relieve pain. Multiple sclerosis, AIDS, epilepsy and cancer are other diseases and conditions that benefit from treatment with marijuana.
Extensive research into the many ways that cannabis can ease pain and suffering is long overdue.
