Sticking to your healthy New Year’s resolutions is a great way of avoiding a cancer diagnosis.
If you adopt 5 of the lifestyle habits known to reduce cancer, you’ll drop your overall risk by a whopping 33 percent! And, for each one you tackle and achieve, your risk of coming down with cancer drops by 8 percent.
Here are the 5 habits: eating healthy, not smoking, exercise regularly, limit alcohol and maintain a normal body mass index.
Progress is consistent and lasting if you take small steps, so choose one of these and go for it. As for eating healthy, observe your diet and drop the fast food habit. Don’t start running marathons, just take a brisk walk most days.
See your doctor about reducing the nicotine habit. Have fewer adult beverages each week. If you do these things, chances are, you’re on your way to that healthy BMI and a cancer-free life.
