During the show, I spoke about the relationship between symptoms/behaviors of schizotypal personality disorder in at least 3 of 4 of the most recent "mass casualty" events we've had in America that were not Islamic terrorist-related. I'm not so sure about the Las Vegas shooter, but the investigation isn't complete about his early life and he is much older than the other 3, so I'll withhold my opinion until more is learned.
These personality and mental illness dynamics always come to my mind when I hear of these events.

We can learn a lot from nature, especially the concept of appropriate aggression. Howler monkeys enjoy the most peaceful lives of all monkey groups because they "roar" like lions.
The dominant male climbs to the tree tops from time-to-time and looks out for danger. When he sees a threat, he starts "roaring" and when the entire clan joins in, they sound more like a really angry pride of lions. The howler monkey's roar can be heard from 3 miles away. Yeah, that's how they do it.
Later this week, I'll be posting a piece about how, as a clinician, I taught kids who were bullied, "how to roar" in order to reduce being bullied.
It's the concept of "appropriate aggression".
