Have you ever wondered about the great men and women of history and if they lived today, would have been diagnosed with “something”?
Leonardo da Vinci might have had Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Despite being a prolific painter, sculptor, engineer, architect and inventor, many of his ideas couldn’t be created because they were well ahead of the science of his time.
Though records show he spent an excessive amount of time planning, he struggled mightily to finish anything.
He was restless and couldn’t stick to one thing at a time.
He was a chronic procrastinator.
He rarely slept, was insatiably curious and highly distractible.
But, the ADHD may have allowed him to think freely and may have contributed to his accomplishments.
If he had more “stick-to-it-iveness”, how many more of his pieces would be hanging in galleries!
