Well, this is the approach to homework and projects that many kids take because they’re overwhelmed or panicked. They need to learn a process called task analysis.
Task analysis is a straightforward approach requiring the task to be “deconstructed” to determine the parts and then, a timeline is attached to each part.
Make sure that Jeff leaves plenty of room to manage delays and distractions so he can finish the science fair project on time with minimal stress.
Task analysis can be applied to daily homework as well so that the work gets done with high quality results and Jeff can get to bed on time. As a middle schooler, he needs a lot of sleep because his body is growing very rapidly.
Mastering the process of task analysis will be invaluable in college and certainly, on the job.
