This is one of those times when I just love science! Research now reveals there are several health benefits to eating chocolate cake. Oh, tell me more!
When you eat chocolate regularly, it improves your cognitive skills as well as your memory and abstract thinking.
The brain needs energy immediately after you wake up because your body converts food and energy more efficiently in the morning. A piece of chocolate cake early in the day benefits your brain by giving it the energy it needs and it’s not as likely to end up on your hips if you eat it later.
People who eat a lot of protein and carbs for breakfast lose more weight than those who eat a light breakfast later in the day. An additional benefit is that cocoa beans are high in flavonoids which have a positive effect on cell signaling.
I’m starting a habit of eggs and chocolate cake for breakfast. I’ll let you know how it goes!
