For the first time in our history, Americans are spending more money eating out than eating at home.
The availability of food being delivered to your home to either eat immediately or prepare later has skyrocketed along with the number of companies providing such services. If you prepare it, someone will want it delivered.
Consumers are willing to pay more for the convenience of having food “on demand”.
The younger generation’s spending at online grocery stores has risen by 750% since 2012.
They’re willing to pay 30% more for prepared meals and 55% more for restaurant take out. They’re also having their groceries delivered and buying meal kits for which they’re paying between 14 and 25% more.
Major cities are seeing a shift from the standard grocery store model to online grocers.
Clipping coupons is a thing of the past.
