Johnny wants the truck. He hits Jeff and grabs the truck. But where does this behavior come from?
It’s nature. Antisocial behavior is profitable for a small group of people by giving them an evolutionary advantage.
Stealing can provide the necessary resources for reproduction and survival, the strongest instincts of living things.
A reputation for aggression can benefit males with higher status in the pecking order, giving them the social dominance to choose the best mates.
Males will go to great lengths to pass on their own genes over those of their rivals. Even revenge murders can cull the herd of cheats and those who freeload on the group.
These behaviors continue because of their power to ensure survival.
Johnny’s behavior is natural. Don’t blame him. Teach him the rules of society so he can be a fully functioning citizen.
