Lack of sleep causes obesity and even reduces happiness and overall life satisfaction.
But, in a million years, I never thought I’d come across an article about how important it is for trees to sleep. You heard me. Trees sleep.
Trees around the world were studied and it was observed that just after sundown, their leaves and branches droop ever so slightly. And, just after sunrise, the leaves and branches return to their original positions.
The researchers think that this movement may represent a kind of “tree circadian rhythm” or that they’re taking advantage of the available sunlight. Trees use less water at night which suggests they’re less active.
So, be more like trees and get your “zzzzzs”.
