People taking antidepressants and even adjunct medications still find themselves being painfully aware of “breakthrough” symptoms which can escalate to hopelessness that they’ll never overcome depression.
Research proves that if they just get moving, even a little bit, those leftover symptoms can disappear. Light or moderate physical activity is all that it takes.
Light activity is defined as anything that causes an increase in breathing, heart rate or sweating such as walking in a mall. Moderate exercise includes the same components, but is carried on for 15 to 20 minutes. You should be able to hold a conversation.
Those doing light activity noticed higher levels of satisfaction and lower levels of depression and those engaging in moderate exercise had the same outcome, but also lower levels of pain.
You don’t need to devote your life to intense exercise to benefit. Get moving!
