One day, I called and learned that Mom was at the farm where she was going to buy her horse. What’s she doing there? “Well, she’s mucking stalls”, said Dad, “She’s getting ready for the horse. She decided that the best way to learn about a horse was from the poop up”.
Mom knew stuff. She knew that life was an “inside-out job”. She knew that the outside was just packaging and that you better pay attention to the inner workings or you’re headed for trouble. I guess it’s one of the reasons that she emphasized clean underwear.
You always want to be prepared. Mom said to spend the most time brushing our back teeth. You may not see them when you smile, but boy, they can really hurt if you ignore them. She was one of the greatest gifts of my life. I am blessed. Thanks, Mom.
