If you think your teenager isn’t “consuming” porn, think again.
If you think your parental controls are blocking them, remember that a 12 year old is a techno-master of the Universe and they’re likely to get around anything you throw at them.
If they’re watching it as a substitute for sex education, up your game and address their questions.
Realize that human beings are experiential and they’d rather do something than be told about it. Teenagers are "experiential" on steroids.
No matter how much you teach them about sex, there’s no replacement for seeing it in action.
Why am I telling you this? Because I want you to temper your reaction when you find out they’re watching it. Ask them about it. Have a plan ready.
We don’t know what porn does to the teenage brain. What we do know is that a 12 year old isn’t ready to completely understand what’s on that screen. Remember. Children are fantastic observers of the world, but lousy interpreters of what they see.
