Can we control sports-related brain damage? Is football dying as a result of parents keeping their kids from sports where concussions are common?
In 6 years, the number of kids in the California pipeline to play football has dropped by 10,000.
Considering there are 93,000 college players in all divisions and the odds are a million to one that your kid will make it onto a Division I football team and after that, a million to one that they’ll make it into the pros, is it worth it to sentence your kid to a grim future?
Out of the 202 football players who donated their brains, 177 had CTE, chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
Three of 14 high schoolers and 48 of the 53 college players already had CTE.
Think about your kid’s future and make your decision.
