Curiosity leads to the most interesting and frankly, entertaining research studies.
British scientists conducted an online study to determine which words were the funniest and wackiest.
Some of the funniest words were nitwit, tinkle, egghead and twerp. Men rated words with a naughty association to be the funniest.
Females thought that beast, circus, humbug, momma and sod to be the funniest.
I ended up wondering if scintillating, bamboozle, succotash or iota made the list. What about mimic, gyrate, or cucumber?
I thought perhaps that the accent of the researchers may have made a difference, but maybe not since the research was conducted online. The accents of the participants may have played a role.
I taught some of my British friends how to swear because, frankly, they had no “punch” to their profanities! Once a teacher, always a teacher!
