Though women are accused of domesticating men, that’s not the whole truth. For example, when men move into their 50s, they start to lose the itches and urges of previous years and chose nurturance and dependence while women have had enough of taking care of everybody and we seek independence and new experiences.
In our 60’s, both men and women think differently about time. We move from thinking about how old we are to how much time we have left. These perceptions are caused, in part, by changes in health and life’s circumstances. They’re also caused by having fewer responsibilities.
If you see these changes in yourself, your parents or grandparents, understand that it’s just another stage in adult development. Embrace the changes and enjoy!
