Whereas your brain represents just 2% of body weight yet uses 20% of your body’s energy, scientists aren’t sure how much of the brain is used by any one person. We do know that it needs a lot of nutrition to stay alert. Energy hog!
We say that the right brain is creative and the left brain is language-focused.
Bunk! Brain imaging studies show that we use both sides of the brain for all thinking and for reading and math.
You don’t have to master one language before learning another. Kids who learn two languages together have a better sense of language as a whole. They may learn them more slowly, but master them just the same.
And yes, male and female brains differ physically, but there’s no research to prove that men and women learn new skills differently.
As usual, science will catch up to myth and put a thumbs up or down on it.
