One of those reasons is related to maternal age. When Momma is older than 35, there is limited stretchi-ness of the blood vessels that provide oxygen and nutrients to the uterus. This may affect the oxygen flow to the right side of the brain. Oxygen levels in the autistic brain are less synchronized causing other differences associated with the disorder.
These differences include having less mirror neurons that allow a child to mimic others, resulting in social deficits.
A much larger frontal lobe, the area behind the forehead, is responsible for problems in shifting gears and using social judgment which undermines relationships.
These critical brain differences require intensive and individualized interventions. Serious problems deserve serious solutions.
