You’ve noticed the snarky comments that cat lovers make about dogs?
My cat is much smarter than your dog. My cat is more discerning and has his own mind, but your dog, she’ll run after you anywhere like a boy band fan. Nuh uh.
Science has proven that those loser dogs have twice as many cells in the part of the brain associated with thinking, planning and other complex behaviors as cats.
Dogs have 530 million neurons or brain cells while cats have only about 250 million. The number of neurons an animal has determines their ability to predict what is about to happen in their environment based on past experiences.
Bigger brains don’t make for smarter animals. Dogs have more neurons than brown bears. Raccoons’ brains are the size of a cat’s, but have as many neurons as a dog.
Animals fulfill an emotional need in us no matter their brain size. Stop arguing over them!
