Do you know about silent headaches?
These headaches have the classic signs of a migraine without the pain around your temples.
During the phase just before the migraine hits, you can get hyper or cranky, have food cravings, be tired and yawn a lot, feel stiff, especially in your neck, need to pee more often and get constipated or have diarrhea.
Then, the visual symptoms hit and they last for about an hour including wavy or jagged lines, flashing lights, spots, blind spots, or tunnel vision.
Sensory problems include trouble hearing or hearing things that aren’t there, a strange smell or taste, numbness, tingling, weakness, difficulty remembering words or speaking.
If your child reports these feelings, don’t ignore them. In adolescence, I've seen headache misery erupt into hopelessness/helplessness and their evil twin, depression which can lead to suicide. See your doctor right away.
