You never thought about this, did you?
Tattooed skin produces about half the amount of sweat as does clear skin. This dynamic may be related to the salt content of the tattooed skin which is about double that of non-tattooed areas.
The results of this research may have health implications for soldiers, firefighters, construction workers or marathon runners in very hot climates as they may not be able to sweat properly. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke become a danger.
Ask your physician about staying well hydrated during strenuous activities in hot weather if you have a significant amount of ink.
Does your son or daughter want a tattoo? Make sure you talk with them about the sign of the design and how it may negatively impact their health.
It’s an unexpected and hidden danger.
