Public schools offer little in the way of programs to encourage these students and parents want to know “What else is there?”
One of the most well-respected programs is the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth which began in 1979. They have summer programs, online programs and events for families. They address the needs of students from preschool through the 12th grade.
Resources to help you find exciting experiences for your child include the National Association for Gifted Children as well as the National Society for the Gifted and Talented.
The Hoagies Gifted Organization will guide you toward resources in your state (and country!). They offer a wealth of information.
Raising a gifted child has unique demands. Have your child’s ability level tested and feed that hungry brain!
