"Ghostlighting". It's a new and sadistic trend. It's a combination of "ghosting" and being "gaslighted". Being "gaslighted" comes from the 1944 black-and-white movie with Ingrid Bergman (yes, Candace's Mom) and Charles Boyer. The story line is that a sadistic man was trying to drive his wife mad and he was pretty good at it. It's a remarkable movie. They don't make 'em like that anymore!
"Ghostlighting" is when your newest love disappears and when s/he returns, they try to make you question your sanity. "What do you mean, where have I been? Where have you been and why didn't you show up at the concert? Do you have any idea how much those tickets set me back?"
Yeah, get away from that.
