This is really scaring me now. I had a haunting suspicion that the CDC would "up" the estimates on acute flaccid myelitis and my worse suspicions have been manifested. There are more than twice than first estimated.
Just this week, a mother put her sick 2-year old toddler to bed and when the little girl awoke in the morning, she was paralyzed from the neck down.
The CDC doesn't know what's causing it and there's no cure. Please, please inform yourselves. This article tells a bit more, but if I had a young child, I'd be all over the CDC website everyday.
