The article featured a 10-year old boy in Philadelphia who was out with his personal stylist (who charges $200 per hour) looking for just the right shirt-tie-blazer-slacks combination. The shopper was surprised to have had 5 kids, ages 10 to 17, ask for her help with determining their style.
Of the greatest surprised and, yes, dismay, was the 3-year old kid that another personal shopper talked about (she charges $350 per hour for a minimum of 3 hours!). This "image consultant" was contacted by a mother in Manhattan who is preparing this 3-year old for interviews at preschools. Yes, preschools. Apparently, not only is this part of the trend to get your child into the "right" preschool, but so is spending thousands of dollars on coaching!
Ugh. Will these kids have serious anxiety disorders in their early 20's? I only hope someone is watching and can report on this trend.
I know that some of you did NOT believe me when I shared about the number of 30+ folks who are getting tattoos in their favorite Pyrex designs. Here's the proof and the pics! Enjoy! Send me a shot of you Pyrex tattoo if you go for it!
Here's a resource for the diagnosis of Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria we discussed. It will help you to understand and hopefully, motivate you to get help. You don't have to be miserable!
So fun! But, Producer Mike and I lamented that we missed the annual La Tomatina in Spain this year! Not to worry, though, there are more schedule all over the world. The first La Tomatina has a really neat history. Learn more here. Maybe we'll get there next year after we study the rules!
On a less fun note, we talked about the tremendous rise in sexually transmitted infections (STIs now, no longer STDs!). There's one in particular that's really nasty and it's already popped up in England! It's called donovanosis and the lesions are so intense that it causes tissue death in those oh-so-sensitive areas!
Be aware and be prepared. The ugliest of all, syphilis, is seriously on the rise. TALK to your sexually active kids!!!
