We pass through more biological milestones before we’re born than any other time in our lives.
The fetus learns to prefer mother’s food, recognize her voice and is trained to the day-night cycle from her activity level. If Momma is stressed, the fetus prepares to enter a harsh world and recalibrates itself to be on high alert for threats.
If Momma doesn’t eat well, the fetus prepares for a world of scarcity and may be born with organs that aren’t prepared to process fats and sugars resulting in diabetes.
Factor in an unlucky gene pool and a troubling childhood and you may become depressed, diabetic, schizophrenic and/or have heart problems.
Mother’s chronic stress creates emotional, behavioral and cognitive disorders.
These 9 months may feel like “forever” to a pregnant woman, but they are “forever” to her baby.
