It’s a one-shot solution. Researchers are testing technology that stores vaccines in microscopic capsules that release the initial dose and the boosters at specific times.
The legendary MIT described the micro-particles as looking like miniature coffee cups that are filled with vaccine and sealed with a lid.
The cups have been designed in such a way so that they break down and spill their contents at the designated time.
So far, the technology has been successful with mice which is the first step before testing in humans.
Not only will this micro-particle approach be a welcome relief to parents, but it has significant implications for developing countries, many of which are the birth places of some of the most deadly diseases in modern history such as the ebola virus.
We LOVE science!!
