The local sandbox is full of bacteria, some of it very dangerous to your child's health.
Consider that animals roam in it, day and night, and leave their waste. Birds fly over it and drop their waste. Kids leave their "mark".
The researchers found a variety of C. diff strains in the sand, some that were resistant to treatment and some that were capable of being highly toxic and possibly fatal by causing extreme intestinal swelling.
Also, acquaint yourselves with the initial symptoms of C. diff. As usual, the faster you hop on a problem, the better the outcome you're likely to have.
Just do the best you can, Claudia (aka, "Little Miss Sunshine")
