Every Thursday morning, about 8:20 am (PCT), I do a segment on The Ranch, 99.1 FM from Simi Valley here in southern California. I decided to post a few highlights every Thursday that I'm on the air just in case you missed it.
Here are some of today's goodies:
The topic was: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and the Fast Food Feeding Fenomenon (OK, it's really Phenomenon, but who's checking, anyway?).
If you have trouble with monitoring yourself, planning and organizing, blah, blah, blah, you're might be very familiar with the menus of these eateries...People with ADHD are very "present-oriented" and struggle to pay attention to "what's next"...I call it "scrolling" or having a mental teleprompter. They start thinking about food once they're starving just like they start getting ready when they are already late. It's a seriously tough way to live and the "misery index" is high.
So, here's what happens. You eat this stuff and you physically feel bad and your brain slogs down and you don't get your work done and you don't pick up the kids because you had to work late because you slogged down and now, you're in the blender with your wife or husband or the babysitter or whatever. It's a hot mess.
Just do your best. It really is good enough... ta ta for now! (TTFN) See you next Thursday...
