We should be proper nouns.
According to www.chompchomp.com, "Nouns name people, places and things. Every noun can further be classified as common or proper. A proper noun has two distinctive features: 1) it will name a specific [usually one-of-a-kind] item, and 2) it will begin with a capital letter no matter where it occurs in a sentence".
They know better. They know that the Mom and Dad, Mother or Father that you are buying the card for is, indeed, one-of-a-kind.
This is just a "thing" for me. I think we deserve capital letters. And because my parents had me and I went on to be a Mom, Grandpa and Grandma deserve to be capitals, too.
What do you think?
Just sayin', some things need to stay the same and some things need to change.
