Usually, there’s just negative talk about having children after 30 or even 40. Yes, there are risks, but we now know that the benefits are amazing.
If you have your last child after the age of 33, you’re more likely to live to 95. Those of us who had our last baby after 35 also had boosts in brain power during menopause, likely due to hormone therapy.
We have increased income over time because we started families later in order to get educated and established in our careers. We offer better educational and emotional support for our kids and they fare better in life.
Kids born to older mothers stay in school longer, score higher on standardized tests and were more likely to go to college.
We use more extensive vocabularies when engaging our kids which translates into a stronger academic performance. As Oprah said, “You can have it all, just not all at once”.
